The Magical Zatanna

This week it's time to post images of another one of my favorite characters to draw, Zatanna.  I'm not sure why certain characters spur me into being creative; both Zatanna and the Black Canary have fishnets (at least in their original incarnations) so I'm thinking that's part of the attraction.  I'll sit and try to figure it out, in the meantime enjoy some images of Zatanna.

Tarzan Found in Pennsylvania Woods

Here it is folks, proof that Tarzan does exist.  I have to admit, he's not as impressive as one would believe, and I didn't know that he normally wears sweats.  This is also proof that I can still act a bit silly in the woods.

Figure Drawing and Life Drawing

I just love life drawing, and I always will.  There's nothing better than having a great looking nude model pose for you while you draw.  Of course nude models aren't always so great to look at, but even then it can be fun.  I've been teaching at the Art Institute of Philadelphia for almost 12 years now, and I've seen the same models time and time again, and at times it's a challenge to want to draw them, especially if they're in there 70's.  About two years ago I took an online figure drawing class, and we were allowed to use photos.  I finally had at my disposal all the best looking models possible, and I haven't looked back since.  All of the drawings posted here were done using photos as reference.

Pistol Packin' Lara Croft

There's just something about a girl wearing shorts, sporting pistols and searching for treasure that is just hard to resist.  I was drawn to this character...I mean I drew the character...er, you know what I mean.  I will always love drawing Laura Croft.

Following is an eight page story I pencilled and inked for Eidos and the Lara Croft Magazine.  I wasn't paid much for this but it was great fun doing it just the same.
